Narrative:

Hou tower cleared us into position and hold. In the process of doing a before takeoff checklist ATC interrupted and cleared us for an immediate takeoff. No heading was heard. We contacted departure and told them the heading and ATC requested we immediately turn to 330 degree heading. Departure mentioned we should have been given a heading after departure. We mentioned no heading was given to us by tower. I mentioned it shouldn't be a problem. We turned immediately to 330 degree heading. Contributing factors: 1) interruption of checklist, 2) expediting a departure due to arrival traffic.
