Narrative:

En route from dfw to XXX at FL290, we felt a strong vibration and noticed the #1 engine N1, N2 and oil pressure gauges drop and the egt rise. We then agreed the #1 engine was no longer producing power and decided to shut it down. We declared an emergency with ZME requesting vectors to mem. The captain and flight engineer ran the engine failure checklist, began dumping fuel to get the aircraft to its maximum landing weight 154500 pounds. During this time I was flying the aircraft descending for mem, and preparing for the approach, ie, WX approach plates. We landed on runway 36R without incident, and checked with crash fire rescue equipment if there was any smoke or fire visible. With nothing reported by crash fire rescue equipment we taxied to the gate. No injuries reported.
