Narrative:

A passenger opened the cockpit door very briefly while looking for the forward lavatory. The cockpit door was locked when this happened. I checked the operation of the door and found it had to be firmly closed to make sure the lock engaged. There were several places where the door was rubbing on the trim strip. I wrote the door up and maintenance fixed it at our next stop (bna). A second passenger observed the first passenger open the cockpit door. This second passenger became upset that someone was able to open the cockpit door.
