Narrative:
En route bna-ord, #1 flight attendant said passenger was ill, on oxygen and feeling better. He had blacked out. I decided to divert in ind (straight ahead). We declared a medical emergency and landed. Paramedics met us and eventually offloaded passenger into an ambulance. A friend of the passenger stayed with him and went to the hospital. We got a new release, refueled and went on to ord. Flight attendants did excellent job.
