Narrative:
Location: sjc 125 degree radial, 30 DME (approximately). Descending to 8000 ft, approach called VFR traffic 9500 ft. They gave us a 30 degree left turn to avoid. Shortly after, we got an RA to climb. At night it was hard to tell but we may have passed within 2 mi and 200 ft vertical. Rest of flight normal.
