Narrative:

During climb out, a passenger reported something hanging from the left wing. The captain asked me to go and check it out. It appeared to be a cable about 2 inches long in a loop below the left outboard alarm. I could not tell if it was a cable or seal of some sort. I reported to the captain who with maintenance on the radio decided it was safe to continue to dfw. On landing, the cable was from the leading edge slats. No problems in any phase of flight.
