Narrative:
Ground control cleared me to taxi to runway 23 and hold. I stopped at the hold line and adjusted my radios. When I was about to contact tower, I was ready for takeoff, I discovered I had rolled past the hold line, but not onto the runway. Ground control instructed me to cross runway 23 and hold on other side. I did as instructed. At that time I was cleared for takeoff. Normal takeoff was accomplished. When checking instruments in the future, I must make sure the brakes are applied more completely.

Title: PVT PLT RECEIVING INSTRUCTIONS ALLOWS ACFT TO ROLL OVER THE HOLD LINE WHEN PREOCCUPIED WITH ENG RUN-UP.
Narrative: GND CTL CLRED ME TO TAXI TO RWY 23 AND HOLD. I STOPPED AT THE HOLD LINE AND ADJUSTED MY RADIOS. WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO CONTACT TWR, I WAS READY FOR TKOF, I DISCOVERED I HAD ROLLED PAST THE HOLD LINE, BUT NOT ONTO THE RWY. GND CTL INSTRUCTED ME TO CROSS RWY 23 AND HOLD ON OTHER SIDE. I DID AS INSTRUCTED. AT THAT TIME I WAS CLRED FOR TKOF. NORMAL TKOF WAS ACCOMPLISHED. WHEN CHKING INSTS IN THE FUTURE, I MUST MAKE SURE THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED MORE COMPLETELY.
