Narrative:

Taxiing on mia airport and holding short of runway 9L behind a delayed B727. I was told to pull up and hold on the left side of the pad. The B727 was waiting at the hold short line, so I thought ATC wanted me to pull up in front of him. After I pulled up, ATC told me to hold where I was. Upon reflection, I am not sure if he wanted me in front of or behind the hold short line. Better communication would have helped.

Title: RWY INCURSION AT MIA, FL.

Narrative: TAXIING ON MIA ARPT AND HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 9L BEHIND A DELAYED B727. I WAS TOLD TO PULL UP AND HOLD ON THE L SIDE OF THE PAD. THE B727 WAS WAITING AT THE HOLD SHORT LINE, SO I THOUGHT ATC WANTED ME TO PULL UP IN FRONT OF HIM. AFTER I PULLED UP, ATC TOLD ME TO HOLD WHERE I WAS. UPON REFLECTION, I AM NOT SURE IF HE WANTED ME IN FRONT OF OR BEHIND THE HOLD SHORT LINE. BETTER COM WOULD HAVE HELPED.
