Narrative:

After turning northwest, still on tower frequency, tower asked if we had a pre departure clearance. We replied yes we did. Captain put aircraft on autoplt and rather energetically informed tower of the fact. Tower informed us that our transponder squawk was wrong, and we changed squawk code. After handoff to departure, we realized that we were given the wrong pre departure clearance by dispatch. Destination and route were accurate, but it was for the flight that departed 2 hours before us. The contributing factors to this were multi-leg days with 20 min turns when the captain has to run to the other end of the terminal and pick up pre departure clearance/WX and the flight plan, determine fuel load, hit the john, run back, and get his side of the airplane ready. Me being new to the company, never using a pre departure clearance before this company, and the assumption that if operations gave it to us it must be right. To keep it from happening again, we both doublechk the pre departure clearance with flight numbers, time, etc. Destination is always checked. But if the route is accurate, I would just assume its mine. Never assume.

Title: AN EMB145 FLC USES THE WRONG PDC AND DEPART IAH WITH THE WRONG XPONDER CODE WHICH IS DETECTED 5 MI NW OF IAH, TX.

Narrative: AFTER TURNING NW, STILL ON TWR FREQ, TWR ASKED IF WE HAD A PDC. WE REPLIED YES WE DID. CAPT PUT ACFT ON AUTOPLT AND RATHER ENERGETICALLY INFORMED TWR OF THE FACT. TWR INFORMED US THAT OUR XPONDER SQUAWK WAS WRONG, AND WE CHANGED SQUAWK CODE. AFTER HDOF TO DEP, WE REALIZED THAT WE WERE GIVEN THE WRONG PDC BY DISPATCH. DEST AND RTE WERE ACCURATE, BUT IT WAS FOR THE FLT THAT DEPARTED 2 HRS BEFORE US. THE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS TO THIS WERE MULTI-LEG DAYS WITH 20 MIN TURNS WHEN THE CAPT HAS TO RUN TO THE OTHER END OF THE TERMINAL AND PICK UP PDC/WX AND THE FLT PLAN, DETERMINE FUEL LOAD, HIT THE JOHN, RUN BACK, AND GET HIS SIDE OF THE AIRPLANE READY. ME BEING NEW TO THE COMPANY, NEVER USING A PDC BEFORE THIS COMPANY, AND THE ASSUMPTION THAT IF OPS GAVE IT TO US IT MUST BE RIGHT. TO KEEP IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN, WE BOTH DOUBLECHK THE PDC WITH FLT NUMBERS, TIME, ETC. DEST IS ALWAYS CHKED. BUT IF THE RTE IS ACCURATE, I WOULD JUST ASSUME ITS MINE. NEVER ASSUME.
