Narrative:

After landing dtw runway 21R exited at Y-9 and was cleared to taxi on taxiway Y and hold short of K-12. As I approached K-10 only, the ground controller, in a somewhat urgent voice, called and said to turn at next intersection to join taxiway K. I started a slow turn at K-10 and out of the corner of my eye I saw a fast moving B757 on taxiway K just about to pass K-10. I applied the brakes, stopped and missed the B757. As I was applying the brakes and stopping, the ground controller added to the clearance 'go behind the B757.' this clearance was after the fact since I was already stopping. My next clearance was to proceed on taxiway K to the gate. After parking I called the tower and talked to a supervisor and was told that the B757 was being controled on 132.72 and I was on 121.8 and there had been some controller coordination problem. Note: no injuries or damage from the stop.
