Narrative:
On departure, #1 generator tripped off line and would not reset. APU was previously deferred. This left aircraft with only 1 normally operating generator. After contacting our dispatch and maintenance control, we elected to return to the airport.

Title: A CANADAIR CL65 ON TKOF AT 1500 FT DIVERTED DUE TO LOSS OF #1 GENERATOR. APU PREVIOUSLY DEFERRED AS INOP.
Narrative: ON DEP, #1 GENERATOR TRIPPED OFF LINE AND WOULD NOT RESET. APU WAS PREVIOUSLY DEFERRED. THIS LEFT ACFT WITH ONLY 1 NORMALLY OPERATING GENERATOR. AFTER CONTACTING OUR DISPATCH AND MAINT CTL, WE ELECTED TO RETURN TO THE ARPT.
