Narrative:

On the morning of apr/xa/00, I was acting as first officer. We taxied from the ramp to runway 31 in houghton, mi (cmx). We were advised by unicom that the wind was calm, visibility 30 mi and clear skies. After receiving our clearance to msp from ZMP, we taxied onto runway 31 for our departure. We then began our takeoff roll. Approximately 1/2 way down the runway, short of V1, the captain noticed a group of about 7 deer approaching the runway. An aborted takeoff was immediately executed, we were attempting to stop or slow as much as possible in order to avoid the group of deer. We struck 1 or 2 of the deer with the left engine. No further incident occurred. Although, the aircraft was heavily damaged, we were able to taxi back to the ramp to offload the passenger.
