Narrative:

On mar/xa/00, I was working on engine xyz rack XXX. I installed the #6 bearing onto the engine. I checked part numbers and verified the serial numbers which were both appropriate numbers. However, I failed to recognize the bearing had previously been installed on a dash 9 engine and should not have been used on a dash 217 engine.

Title: A JT8D-217 TURBINE ENG DURING BUILDUP HAD A #6 BEARING INSTALLED INCORRECTLY USING A BEARING PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED ON A JT8D-9 ENG.

Narrative: ON MAR/XA/00, I WAS WORKING ON ENG XYZ RACK XXX. I INSTALLED THE #6 BEARING ONTO THE ENG. I CHKED PART NUMBERS AND VERIFIED THE SERIAL NUMBERS WHICH WERE BOTH APPROPRIATE NUMBERS.
