Narrative:
45 NM south of flm given crossing of flm at FL350. We were currently at FL390. We read back the crossing, figured a descent point and then started to brief our approach into ord. ATC called and asked if we were going to make the crossing, and when we looked at our DME we were 5 NM south of flm. We stayed at altitude per ATC request. No traffic conflicts were caused. We were handed off to the next controller and then given descent.

Narrative: 45 NM S OF FLM GIVEN XING OF FLM AT FL350. WE WERE CURRENTLY AT FL390. WE READ BACK THE XING, FIGURED A DSCNT POINT AND THEN STARTED TO BRIEF OUR APCH INTO ORD. ATC CALLED AND ASKED IF WE WERE GOING TO MAKE THE XING, AND WHEN WE LOOKED AT OUR DME WE WERE 5 NM S OF FLM. WE STAYED AT ALT PER ATC REQUEST. NO TFC CONFLICTS WERE CAUSED. WE WERE HANDED OFF TO THE NEXT CTLR AND THEN GIVEN DSCNT.
