Narrative:

Unknown allegation made by local FBO flight support about our flight while taxiing on ramp. Air carrier flight abcd mco-msp landed runway 30L at msp, turned left on runway 22 to taxiway north to the ramp as cleared by tower at msp. Local FBO contacted by flight engineer and were told that assigned gate was occupied and to hold on remote pad. We were already on ramp by the time these instructions were given by the local FBO. No FBO marshallers were present. A left 180 degree turn (2 engine operation) was made from a full stop. Landing weight was 154900 pounds. Taxied to hold pad as requested. Held with passenger on board until gate was cleared and taxied in per FBO instructions. No problems with radio communications with FBO observed. Other information: no one from the FBO made any comments regarding any problems to the flight crew. This report made at the request of the air carrier chief pilot per cell phone call to the air carrier agent at the gate, while aircraft was unloaded, regarding an unknown alleged problem by the FBO. Recommendations: the FBO should have informed us (flight crew abcd) that our gate was occupied when the gate was assigned to us while on approach. We were not informed in a timely manner resulting in our aircraft having to make a 180 degree turn on the ramp.
