Narrative:

First officer climb out lga to 16000 ft in performance climb mode. Altitude did not capture. Climbing through 16000 ft, first officer clicked off autoplt and hand flew aircraft from 16300 ft to 16000 ft. At that time, ZNY advised us that we were cleared to 16000 ft. We acknowledged. No traffic conflict known. No further problems with autoplt and altitude capture mode. Supplemental information from acn 464511: altitude did not capture at rapid rate of climb.

Narrative: FO CLBOUT LGA TO 16000 FT IN PERFORMANCE CLB MODE. ALT DID NOT CAPTURE. CLBING THROUGH 16000 FT, FO CLICKED OFF AUTOPLT AND HAND FLEW ACFT FROM 16300 FT TO 16000 FT.
