Narrative:

While on the lda DME approach to runway 22 we were cleared to intercept and cleared for the approach. Told to maintain 5000 ft until established. We were established and descended to MDA. ATC called and said we were too low because of a prohibited area on the approach, we need to be at 5000 ft. Why did approach not inform us of this problem?

Narrative: WHILE ON THE LDA DME APCH TO RWY 22 WE WERE CLRED TO INTERCEPT AND CLRED FOR THE APCH. TOLD TO MAINTAIN 5000 FT UNTIL ESTABLISHED. WE WERE ESTABLISHED AND DSNDED TO MDA. ATC CALLED AND SAID WE WERE TOO LOW BECAUSE OF A PROHIBITED AREA ON THE APCH, WE NEED TO BE AT 5000 FT. WHY DID APCH NOT INFORM US OF THIS PROB?
