Narrative:

At XA12Z, an airbus 319 (A319) requested FL390. Traffic was 6 mins away, and the pilot said he could be level in 3 mins. Despite several assertions by the pilot, the airbus was unable to complete the climb in even 6 1/2 mins. I had failed to recognize that the aircraft was an airbus. If I had known it was an airbus I would have taken other actions, as I am aware of the frequent failures of the A320 series to accurately predict climb rates above FL350.
