Narrative:

During climb out of yyz, cleared to 7000 ft (altimeter set correctly). Departure called to say readout they had showed 7500 ft (after clearance to FL230). Our altimeters showed about 7080 ft and we reported that. No aircraft conflicts involved. We went to transponder #2 (no readout) back to transponder #1 and checked with next controller and showed 15000 ft correctly and at FL350. We have no idea why the difference.
