Narrative:

At approximately 25 mi northwest of destination airport during descent, the cockpit and cabin crew detected the very strong odor of jet fuel. The flight crew declared an emergency, requested that ATC notify company flight control and told passenger that they would be landing as quickly as possible. The flight made an otherwise uneventful landing at swf. The passenger were deplaned on the taxiway and bussed to the terminal. No injuries or other problems with passenger noted. Maintenance found problem to be associated with APU.

Title: CL65 CREW HAD FUEL FUMES IN COCKPIT AND CABIN.

Narrative: AT APPROX 25 MI NW OF DEST ARPT DURING DSCNT, THE COCKPIT AND CABIN CREW DETECTED THE VERY STRONG ODOR OF JET FUEL. THE FLC DECLARED AN EMER, REQUESTED THAT ATC NOTIFY COMPANY FLT CTL AND TOLD PAX THAT THEY WOULD BE LNDG AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. THE FLT MADE AN OTHERWISE UNEVENTFUL LNDG AT SWF. THE PAX WERE DEPLANED ON THE TXWY AND BUSSED TO THE TERMINAL. NO INJURIES OR OTHER PROBS WITH PAX NOTED. MAINT FOUND PROB TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH APU.
