Narrative:

XA30Z, frequency 121.8. ATC facility: dfw arrival ground location, intersection of taxiway Y and taxiway K. After landing, we crossed runway 35L on taxiway Y going to the gate. Instructions were to let traffic pass on taxiway Z and then proceed on taxiway K. After 1 MD80 passed, the captain started to cross taxiway Z on taxiway K. I saw an rj still on taxiway Z, but still a ways away. I mentioned that ground stated to let traffic pass. The captain interpreted that as just the MD80, and we proceeded. Ground then stated that he wanted us to wait for the rj also. I responded that the number of aircraft to wait for was unclr to us.
