Narrative:

A bird strike to canopy created a blocked forward view of ground and surroundings. Altitude dropped from approximately 2000 ft AGL to approximately 400 ft AGL where recovery occurred. Substantial blood and carnage blocked all forward view. Upon a safe landing no damage to aircraft was discovered. Bird was estimated to be a goose.

Title: AN EXTRA 300 IN CRUISE AT 2000 FT INCURRED A BIRD STRIKE ON THE WINDSHIELD CANOPY RESULTING IN IMPAIRED VISION AND LOSS OF CTL. RECOVERED CTL AT 400 FT.

Narrative: A BIRD STRIKE TO CANOPY CREATED A BLOCKED FORWARD VIEW OF GND AND SURROUNDINGS. ALT DROPPED FROM APPROX 2000 FT AGL TO APPROX 400 FT AGL WHERE RECOVERY OCCURRED. SUBSTANTIAL BLOOD AND CARNAGE BLOCKED ALL FORWARD VIEW. UPON A SAFE LNDG NO DAMAGE TO ACFT WAS DISCOVERED. BIRD WAS ESTIMATED TO BE A GOOSE.
