Narrative:

ATC facility: dfw airport. During preflight test of WX radar we determined that with left receiver transmitter unit selected WX radar operated in normal 'non test' mode with test mode selector. See logbook. B777 operations manual notes a caution due to operation of WX radar near terminal or personnel. Nature of problems was only determined while en route to kix.
