Narrative:

Approximately 50 mi west of clt, we had a strong odor or electrical fire accompanied by a small amount of visible smoke. The smoke and odor cleared almost instantly. Approximately 2 mins later the strong odor recurred again momentarily. We immediately returned to clt. The final 10 mins of the flight progressed normally with no further odor or smoke noticeable. The landing was overweight but normal. Supplemental information from acn 452754: remainder of flight and landing normal. Landing was 90600 pounds. Captain made smooth landing. Passenger exited at gate normally.

Title: AFTER DEP FROM CLT, AN F100 CREW RPTED AN ELECTRICAL SMELL AND SMOKE WHICH CLRED, BUT THEN RECURRED A SECOND TIME. THEY DIVERTED BACK TO CLT.

Narrative: APPROX 50 MI W OF CLT, WE HAD A STRONG ODOR OR ELECTRICAL FIRE ACCOMPANIED BY A SMALL AMOUNT OF VISIBLE SMOKE. THE SMOKE AND ODOR CLRED ALMOST INSTANTLY. APPROX 2 MINS LATER THE STRONG ODOR RECURRED AGAIN MOMENTARILY. WE IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO CLT. THE FINAL 10 MINS OF THE FLT PROGRESSED NORMALLY WITH NO FURTHER ODOR OR SMOKE NOTICEABLE. THE LNDG WAS OVERWT BUT NORMAL. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 452754: REMAINDER OF FLT AND LNDG NORMAL. LNDG WAS 90600 LBS. CAPT MADE SMOOTH LNDG. PAX EXITED AT GATE NORMALLY.
