Narrative:

We were cleared to taxi in to the company ramp via runway 9R after landing runway 23L. Ground personnel were advised. Marshallers were to taxi us between the nose of a B727 and the tail of a convair. I was taxiing the airplane following the signals from the marshaller closely. There was also a wing walker on the left wingtip and a second wing walker on the right wingtip. When we were about 1/2 way through the space, they signaled us to stop. I engaged the parking brake and opened my clear view window to assess the situation. I was unable to determine clearance, at which point the marshaller then signaled to continue to taxi (move forward and to the right). I believe the marshaller had determined that there was sufficient clearance. It was during this maneuver that the left wingtip moved outward during the turn and scraped the nose of the B727. I recommend the ground personnel of any operation like this need to follow a rigorous training program, where marshallers and some other ground support could be enough confident and professional that can handle a simple situation like marshalling an airplane in to a ramp.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI IN TO THE COMPANY RAMP VIA RWY 9R AFTER LNDG RWY 23L. GND PERSONNEL WERE ADVISED. MARSHALLERS WERE TO TAXI US BTWN THE NOSE OF A B727 AND THE TAIL OF A CONVAIR. I WAS TAXIING THE AIRPLANE FOLLOWING THE SIGNALS FROM THE MARSHALLER CLOSELY. THERE WAS ALSO A WING WALKER ON THE L WINGTIP AND A SECOND WING WALKER ON THE R WINGTIP. WHEN WE WERE ABOUT 1/2 WAY THROUGH THE SPACE, THEY SIGNALED US TO STOP. I ENGAGED THE PARKING BRAKE AND OPENED MY CLR VIEW WINDOW TO ASSESS THE SIT. I WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE CLRNC, AT WHICH POINT THE MARSHALLER THEN SIGNALED TO CONTINUE TO TAXI (MOVE FORWARD AND TO THE R). I BELIEVE THE MARSHALLER HAD DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS SUFFICIENT CLRNC. IT WAS DURING THIS MANEUVER THAT THE L WINGTIP MOVED OUTWARD DURING THE TURN AND SCRAPED THE NOSE OF THE B727. I RECOMMEND THE GND PERSONNEL OF ANY OP LIKE THIS NEED TO FOLLOW A RIGOROUS TRAINING PROGRAM, WHERE MARSHALLERS AND SOME OTHER GND SUPPORT COULD BE ENOUGH CONFIDENT AND PROFESSIONAL THAT CAN HANDLE A SIMPLE SIT LIKE MARSHALLING AN AIRPLANE IN TO A RAMP.
