Narrative:
On a business trip to addison, tx, the owner wanted to fly and get multi-engine training. He is an instrument rated single-engine private pilot. He was overwhelmed by the workload going into addison. I took over before tilla intersection. He called airport in sight and I decided to cancel IFR. We were in the dfw class B airspace. When I realized we were still 15 mi from ads I asked regional approach that we canceled too early and wanted to continue vectors to ads. We were vectored and landed ads without incident. As a CFI and pilot for the company I need to be more assertive when the 'boss' wants stick time.
