Narrative:
During gear retraction after takeoff nosewheel vibration and smell of rubber made us suspect possible damage to a nosewheel tire. Advised dispatch and had den check runway 17L for debris on runway. No debris found. Burned additional fuel by continuing to ord for lighter landing weight. As a precaution, had crash fire rescue equipment personnel available on landing at ord. Found left nose tire damaged on arrival.

Title: FLC OF A SUPER MD80 FELT NOSEWHEEL VIBRATION DURING LNDG RETRACTION AFTER TKOF AND FOUND ONE OF THE TIRES DAMAGED AFTER LNDG WITH CFR PERSONNEL STANDBY.
Narrative: DURING GEAR RETRACTION AFTER TKOF NOSEWHEEL VIBRATION AND SMELL OF RUBBER MADE US SUSPECT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO A NOSEWHEEL TIRE. ADVISED DISPATCH AND HAD DEN CHK RWY 17L FOR DEBRIS ON RWY. NO DEBRIS FOUND. BURNED ADDITIONAL FUEL BY CONTINUING TO ORD FOR LIGHTER LNDG WT. AS A PRECAUTION, HAD CFR PERSONNEL AVAILABLE ON LNDG AT ORD. FOUND L NOSE TIRE DAMAGED ON ARR.
