Narrative:

On descent we were given a crossing restr to cross 10 mi south of mad at or below 12000 ft. On descent we were distracted with a call from a flight attendant about vibration they felt in the aircraft, which was also felt on takeoff. The vibration was due to the APU door not closing. After distraction we noticed that we were going to miss the crossing restr at 10 mi south mad, made crossing restr at 14000 ft ZBW asked about restr told them we were doing the best we could and made 12000 ft at about 5 mi south of mad. APU door was an open deferred write-up.
