Narrative:

Over wallk intersection, on arrival (brook 2) into gso, got an RA on TCASII at approximately 11000 ft MSL during descent to 7000 ft. Light aircraft got within 300 ft vertical and 1/2 mi horizontal. We followed TCASII climb instructions and notified approach control of our actions. We gained approximately 1000 ft to 12000 ft. We visually picked up the traffic as it passed our right wing. The controller didn't pick up the traffic until we reported that we were 'TCAS climbing.' the tower chief later told me it was a VFR target heading wbound. Good save for the TCASII.
