Narrative:

After departing fll we realized that the aircraft logbook was not on the aircraft. Before departing the gate in fll, we were distracted by an unauthorized cockpit jump seat rider, that we denied access to the cockpit jump seat. In the confusion we failed to verify that the aircraft logbook was onboard the aircraft.

Title: MD80 FLC DID NOT HAVE THE ACFT LOGBOOK ONBOARD AFTER DEPARTING FLL.

Narrative: AFTER DEPARTING FLL WE REALIZED THAT THE ACFT LOGBOOK WAS NOT ON THE ACFT. BEFORE DEPARTING THE GATE IN FLL, WE WERE DISTRACTED BY AN UNAUTH COCKPIT JUMP SEAT RIDER, THAT WE DENIED ACCESS TO THE COCKPIT JUMP SEAT. IN THE CONFUSION WE FAILED TO VERIFY THAT THE ACFT LOGBOOK WAS ONBOARD THE ACFT.
