Narrative:
On an arrival route to teb, our clearance was airway to hugenot direct teb. No additional or amended clrncs were given, so after hug, I proceeded direct to teb. The controller asked if I was going to teb, and when advised I was, he said no one goes that way and gave me a heading. This is a preferred routing into teb and the transition is ambiguous. If this is the expected procedure, then it should be made a 'STAR' with a depart 'hugenot' on a specified heading.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A CPR FLC FLYING A DA900 INTO TEB BECOMES CONFUSED AS TO THEIR ROUTING AND CLRNC WHEN CONTACTING NEW YORK APCH.
Narrative: ON AN ARR RTE TO TEB, OUR CLRNC WAS AIRWAY TO HUGENOT DIRECT TEB. NO ADDITIONAL OR AMENDED CLRNCS WERE GIVEN, SO AFTER HUG, I PROCEEDED DIRECT TO TEB. THE CTLR ASKED IF I WAS GOING TO TEB, AND WHEN ADVISED I WAS, HE SAID NO ONE GOES THAT WAY AND GAVE ME A HDG. THIS IS A PREFERRED ROUTING INTO TEB AND THE TRANSITION IS AMBIGUOUS. IF THIS IS THE EXPECTED PROC, THEN IT SHOULD BE MADE A 'STAR' WITH A DEPART 'HUGENOT' ON A SPECIFIED HDG.
