Narrative:

The captain of flight xyz contacted dispatch at departure time requesting information about MEL fuel for MEL xx-yy. The logbook did not reflect MEL xx-yy as open MEL item. Captain replied it had been open MEL item for 2 previous flight legs. Dispatch contacted technician and confirmed the item was still on placard. The release and logbook showed no open MEL's. Dispatch is requesting information on how open MEL items requiring dispatch action can be omitted from release and logbook.

Title: AT DEP TIME THE CAPT NOTED NO EXTRA FUEL BOARDED FOR AN OPEN DEFERRED ITEM REQUIREMENT. DEFERRED ITEM WAS MISSING FROM THE MAINT RELEASE AND THE DISPATCH RELEASE.

Narrative: THE CAPT OF FLT XYZ CONTACTED DISPATCH AT DEP TIME REQUESTING INFO ABOUT MEL FUEL FOR MEL XX-YY. THE LOGBOOK DID NOT REFLECT MEL XX-YY AS OPEN MEL ITEM. CAPT REPLIED IT HAD BEEN OPEN MEL ITEM FOR 2 PREVIOUS FLT LEGS. DISPATCH CONTACTED TECHNICIAN AND CONFIRMED THE ITEM WAS STILL ON PLACARD. THE RELEASE AND LOGBOOK SHOWED NO OPEN MEL'S. DISPATCH IS REQUESTING INFO ON HOW OPEN MEL ITEMS REQUIRING DISPATCH ACTION CAN BE OMITTED FROM RELEASE AND LOGBOOK.
