Narrative:

After departure from ewr bound to sjs, pr, ewr departure cleared us to climb to 6000 ft and to call new york on 127.45 or maybe 124.45 (unsure of exact frequency). By the time we reached coast-out, and still at 6000 ft, I called ATC for higher altitude. He responded that we were on wrong frequency, to return to 119.2. (Note: we had already checked in with this ATC.) ATC 119.2 rolled us to the correct frequency. We climbed on course to FL230.
