Narrative:

We were flying into shepherd airspace on flight of 2. My flight partner had the transponder code and I was on standby. We had been passed off from ZFW to shepherd approach. An air carrier flight was departing from shepherd field and was not told we were out there. I was descending for landing at kickapoo airport when I saw the airline. I continued my descent and no close call was evident. The airline pilot must have seen me as I flashed by. He started yelling on the radio at the controller for not telling him we were out there. No evasive action had to be taken. When we landed at kickapoo someone from the air carrier called and asked for our tail numbers. That action is the reason for this report. I do not believe we were in the wrong as on VFR we are to see and avoid, which is what we did. The controller did later alert my partner of traffic at 1 O'clock. My partner did not see the airline until he was well above and behind. We do not know what to expect from the air carrier asking for our tail numbers.
