Narrative:

On the minee 3 arrival into mco, we had begun a descent from FL200 to 16000 ft. The captain was involved in a lengthy discussion about fishing and he was the pilot flying. We were given instructions to cross moans at 10000 ft (83 DME 030 degree radial). I acknowledged this and as we passed through 15000 ft. I noticed that our descent rate (about 1700 FPM) would not allow us to meet the crossing. I should have spoken up immediately but I was hoping the captain would notice in the next 30 seconds. He did, and by the time he corrected the descent rate we crossed moans at about 11000 ft (or about 2-3 mi past moans at 10000 ft). The controller said 'verify 10000 ft' as we were leveling and I acknowledged this and in a normal tone of voice he turned us over to approach control. There was no other mode C traffic in the area. I felt that my hesitation to speak up was a problem that was compounded by a captain who had to be corrected quite a bit. I didn't want to be a nag. Also, 3 days of XA00-XA30 morning report times had worn me down a bit as well. Next time, I will be more aware of my own physical fatigue and mental assertiveness when I'm on any trip. Even though I had reasonable situational awareness it meant nothing without a willingness to speak up.
