Narrative:

Received ATIS at XA50 and due to cut arrival time, didn't have time to get next current ATIS 'too close in.' ATC didn't tell us that the next current ATIS was active. The big change was, north flow versus south flow. We hit last fix on SID and made turn for south flow, which is above and across departures. ATC caught it after 2 mins, no conflicts.

Title: DHC8 FLC FAILS TO OBTAIN CURRENT ATIS AT SEA.

Narrative: RECEIVED ATIS AT XA50 AND DUE TO CUT ARR TIME, DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO GET NEXT CURRENT ATIS 'TOO CLOSE IN.' ATC DIDN'T TELL US THAT THE NEXT CURRENT ATIS WAS ACTIVE. THE BIG CHANGE WAS, N FLOW VERSUS S FLOW. WE HIT LAST FIX ON SID AND MADE TURN FOR S FLOW, WHICH IS ABOVE AND ACROSS DEPS. ATC CAUGHT IT AFTER 2 MINS, NO CONFLICTS.
