Narrative:

Passenger was smoking in lavatory and was being talked to by #1 flight attendant and warned. Approximately 1 hour later, he smoked a cigarette in his seat. One flight attendant took the cigarette away, and he was again being talked to by #1 flight attendant. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that the passenger somehow deactivated the smoke alarm, because it didn't go off and that smoke was billowing out of the lavatory. The passenger was arrested on arrival for smoking both in the lavatory and at his seat, defying orders from the purser to stop.
