Narrative:

I was cleared for takeoff. Tiger moth aircraft has tailskid and no brakes. As I tried to make crosswind turn onto txwys east and west onto active runway 19L the southeast wind caught me, making the turn impossible. I gunned engine to blast rudder and was headed for taxiway sign, so all I could do is add full power to regain control (directional). This lined me up with taxiway paralleling runway, so I took off from taxiway. No other aircraft around, nor people for at least 1/2 mi. No danger. Tower controller is making big issue of this. All I did was avoid wrecking my plane. Also, had I closed throttle, I was moving fast enough to have not had control, and southeast wind would have veered me to left (east) into lights. No harm was done and no one put in danger.

Title: PLT OF TAIL DRAGGER NOT EQUIPPED WITH BRAKES LOSES CTL OF ACFT WHILE TAXIING. RATHER THAN RUN INTO TAXI SIGN, DECIDES TO TAKE OFF FROM TXWY. THIS UPSETS TWR CTLR.
