Narrative:
Read back a clearance to taxi via 'taxiway west and taxiway D, hold short of runway 12R.' taxied to runway 12R and held short. It was later when I called the tower (as requested) that I found out the taxi clearance was 'taxi to runway 12L via txwys, V, west, D, and hold short of runway 12R.' it was then that I realized I had not received the full clearance and had only read back a partial clearance. This partial readback caused us to cross an active runway (runway 22). The tower chief found that his ground controller should have clarified the readback. I feel an extra check with ground before crossing a runway would have warded off this situation.

Title: FLC OF A CPR LEAR JET 31 FAILED TO FOLLOW TAXI OUT INSTRUCTIONS RESULTING IN INADVERTENT XING OF AN ACTIVE RWY.
Narrative: READ BACK A CLRNC TO TAXI VIA 'TXWY W AND TXWY D, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 12R.' TAXIED TO RWY 12R AND HELD SHORT. IT WAS LATER WHEN I CALLED THE TWR (AS REQUESTED) THAT I FOUND OUT THE TAXI CLRNC WAS 'TAXI TO RWY 12L VIA TXWYS, V, W, D, AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 12R.' IT WAS THEN THAT I REALIZED I HAD NOT RECEIVED THE FULL CLRNC AND HAD ONLY READ BACK A PARTIAL CLRNC. THIS PARTIAL READBACK CAUSED US TO CROSS AN ACTIVE RWY (RWY 22). THE TWR CHIEF FOUND THAT HIS GND CTLR SHOULD HAVE CLARIFIED THE READBACK. I FEEL AN EXTRA CHK WITH GND BEFORE XING A RWY WOULD HAVE WARDED OFF THIS SIT.
