Narrative:

Upon leveling at FL190 we crossed over fdy VOR en route from tol-cvg, our FMS idented the next fix as ape VOR then the cince 3 arrival into cvg. The first officer was hand flying at the time, we weren't quite out of the turn when the center controller from ZOB asked us what radial we had dialed in from fdy and told us we were to fly outbound on the 180 degree radial to dixee intersection, not to proceed to ape. We complied with the new instructions. Upon conversing with a watch controller from ZOB, he informed us that this was a common error with air carrier X crews since our company files us one way, and ATC routinely files us the other route over fdy to dixee intersection. He said he has no problem with us for this occurrence and just wanted to know why it routinely happens with flts from our airline.
