Narrative:

Location: ramp at sju. Standard pushback. Started 3 engines and normal taxi. I was debriefed by chief pilot that there was a maintenance crew working on a scaffold at the tail of a B727 parked at the next gate. They were working high on the tail and complained that the jetblast from our aircraft shook the scaffold and made them lose their balance. No injuries or damage. I feel I did not use excessive power for taxi, but men that high on a scaffold are in a tenuous position. Next time I will have the tug driver push us to a safer position for taxi. Suggest a reminder call from ramp control or from the push crews, as if often done, to protect our people from jet blast. Supplemental information from acn 431542: in retrospect it would have been better if the tug pushed us back to a safer position, and/or if the ramp tower had given a reminder call about using caution for the working crew.
