Narrative:

Takeoff without ATC and IFR clearance. I became aware of the problem shortly after takeoff when the captain and first officer discussed whether or not they took off without a clearance. We had been flying this leg all month and had always had a pre departure clearance. The taxi to the departure runway was short, the WX VFR and upon arrival at the runway, tower cleared us for immediate takeoff (if able) traffic on 3 mi final. We finished the checklist and took off uneventfully. Upon realizing what had most likely occurred, the first officer talked to tower and then departure receiving squawk, etc. The profile flown was the same as every other night.
