Narrative:

VFR cross country flight, WX began to deteriorate approximately 10 NM north of bridgeport and encountered IMC. Contacted new york approach and was given a heading and altitude back to VFR conditions. Cause of problem: attempting to get aircraft back to base rather than realizing conditions were getting poor, and looking for an airport to divert.

Narrative: VFR XCOUNTRY FLT, WX BEGAN TO DETERIORATE APPROX 10 NM N OF BRIDGEPORT AND ENCOUNTERED IMC. CONTACTED NEW YORK APCH AND WAS GIVEN A HDG AND ALT BACK TO VFR CONDITIONS. CAUSE OF PROB: ATTEMPTING TO GET ACFT BACK TO BASE RATHER THAN REALIZING CONDITIONS WERE GETTING POOR, AND LOOKING FOR AN ARPT TO DIVERT.
