Narrative:

On takeoff climb, cockpit and #1 flight attendant, as well as myself (#3 flight attendant) noticed an electrical odor that was quite strong. It smelled like a frayed wire. The passenger over rows 17-18 also noticed the odor and reported it to us. We went to the captain with the information (actually #1 flight attendant did) and he turned around to return to dfw. He did not authority/authorized us to do an evacuate/evacuation, but did prepare us by mentioning that he would let us know by a PA if an evacuate/evacuation was necessary. We then returned to a gate and unloaded passenger.
