Narrative:

ATC facility clt ground. Captain landed normally runway 36L, turned off at high speed taxiway. He then said that it was taking more power than normal to taxi. We thought that we might have a flat tire but felt no abnormal vibration. We then noticed that the right inboard brake temperature was above the other brake temperatures and rising. We continued to taxi toward the ramp entry point. Brake temperature then went above the red line so we stopped taxi. We then called company to ask for maintenance and possible tow in to gate. The brakes were not set. Ground personnel showed up shortly. They observed smoke and fire from the right gear and gave us the fire signal. We performed ground evacuate/evacuation checklist. I exited the forward slide and gathered passenger together off the taxiway and ramp. Nobody complained of injuries. Busses picked up everybody quickly and took them to the terminal. Both the flight attendants and ground personnel did a great job.
