Narrative:

Level at 12000 ft MSL, ZKC controller advised aircraft X of traffic, aircraft Y, at 2 O'clock and 12 mi at 11000 ft northbound. Our course was northeast. Our TCASII picked up the aircraft and when I looked back out, I picked up the traffic visually. Advised ZKC that we had the traffic and told us to maintain visual separation and descend and maintain 11000 ft. I was PIC, but not the PF. The other crew member started the descent to 11000 ft. As we were descending through 11700 ft and noticed that we needed to go lower as our courses converged, we were denied a lower altitude by ATC. Upon reaching 11100 ft, ATC advised us to maintain 11300 ft for now. Traffic was now 1:30 O'clock position and about 3 mi. We did not stay at 11300 ft. Instead, we descended to 10700 ft and rolled left to avoid traffic. When I looked back for the traffic, he was also in a left turn to avoid us. He passed 1/4 - 1/2 mi off the back of our tail and approximately 400-500 ft above us.

Title: PC12 NGA PLT, IN A DSCNT TO 11000 FT, INITIATES EVASIVE TCASII MANEUVER DUE TO A300 TFC AT 11000 FT. ZKC CTLR ISSUES ALT ASSIGNMENT OF 11300 FT, BUT PC12 PLT LEVELS AT 10700 FT UNTIL TFC IS CLR.

Narrative: LEVEL AT 12000 FT MSL, ZKC CTLR ADVISED ACFT X OF TFC, ACFT Y, AT 2 O'CLOCK AND 12 MI AT 11000 FT NBOUND. OUR COURSE WAS NE. OUR TCASII PICKED UP THE ACFT AND WHEN I LOOKED BACK OUT, I PICKED UP THE TFC VISUALLY. ADVISED ZKC THAT WE HAD THE TFC AND TOLD US TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION AND DSND AND MAINTAIN 11000 FT. I WAS PIC, BUT NOT THE PF. THE OTHER CREW MEMBER STARTED THE DSCNT TO 11000 FT. AS WE WERE DSNDING THROUGH 11700 FT AND NOTICED THAT WE NEEDED TO GO LOWER AS OUR COURSES CONVERGED, WE WERE DENIED A LOWER ALT BY ATC. UPON REACHING 11100 FT, ATC ADVISED US TO MAINTAIN 11300 FT FOR NOW. TFC WAS NOW 1:30 O'CLOCK POS AND ABOUT 3 MI. WE DID NOT STAY AT 11300 FT. INSTEAD, WE DSNDED TO 10700 FT AND ROLLED L TO AVOID TFC. WHEN I LOOKED BACK FOR THE TFC, HE WAS ALSO IN A L TURN TO AVOID US. HE PASSED 1/4 - 1/2 MI OFF THE BACK OF OUR TAIL AND APPROX 400-500 FT ABOVE US.
