Narrative:

After 3.3 hours of flight from tus to psp I experienced fuel exhaustion and landed on interstate 10 freeway without incident and without damage. The owner's manual indicated that I should have had 4.2 hours of endurance at my indicated RPM of 2600. The highway patrol obtained FAA permission for me to take off from the freeway after obtaining fuel. The highway patrol established a traffic break and we proceeded on without incident after takeoff.
