Narrative:

Approaching brooke VOR on arrival to iad at 10000 ft, 250 KTS. ZDC pointed out learjet at 12 O'clock position, 10800 ft descending about 6 mi. TCASII gave TA when lear was 1 O'clock position about 4 mi and 600 ft above us, then RA when traffic was about 3 mi, 1 O'clock position and 300 ft above. We followed RA of 1500 FPM descent, until clear of conflict, advised ATC and he continued our descent to 5000 ft. Center had issued traffic to us, but as we got the TCASII RA we had just switched over to approach control and he wasn't aware of what was going on with the lear, but said that he would check with ZDC.
