Narrative:

Deviation from oma tower clearance. Cleared for runway 14L downwind to base entry. We entered into south end of runway (approach end of runway 32, upwind of runway 14L) before we established on the downwind of runway 14L. There were not any conflicts with other aircraft. Pilot reported airport in sight when he had different airport (not oma) in sight. He proceeded to the wrong airport. Oma tower told pilot 'airport 10 - 11 O'clock.' when pilot requested the direction of oma airport during approach to oma when there were winds from south and pilot had wind correction angle to the south, airport was 1 - 2 O'clock from the pilot's position at the time. Oma tower gave vector to the pilot to re-enter downwind for runway 14L. Pilot re-entered downwind for runway 14L.
