Narrative:

At FL290 a TCASII RA was given to climb due to approaching aircraft (military DC9). The TCASII showed the aircraft at our 11:30 position, climbing towards us at 600 ft below our aircraft. We climbed to FL296 before the RA was complete and notified ZLA. After talking with ZLA on the ground, we found out the military aircraft was showing 200-300 ft high in all sectors. They told ATC they would have their avionics checked on the ground.
